Our housing help partner: T4K!

Thousand 4 £1000 was set up in 2015 by Brighton Migrant Solidarity, and registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2017. The Hummingbird Project was also born in 2015 and we have been collaborating and helping each other since the very first days :)

The aim of the Thousand 4£1000  project is to find homes in Brighton for people otherwise denied access to accommodation because of their immigration status. As we know well as Hummingbirds, many small acts of solidarity can add up to make a big difference to how our society works.

Visit their Voices of T4K page to hear some of their volunteers talking about how the project started. Thousand 4 £1000 is run entirely by volunteers; they have no paid staff and no central office.

CAN YOU SPARE THE PRICE OF A CUP OF COFFEE EACH MONTH TO HELP HOUSING MORE OF BRIGHTON'S MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE?

The world is a dangerous place. War and persecution in many countries force people to leave their homes and lives. Governments build walls and make laws to stop people finding a place of safety.

But people in Brighton have found a simple way to extend a hand of welcome.

Just by donating the price of a cup of coffee (or two) each month, you can join the community effort of our partner Thousand 4 £1000 to provide a safe place to live for refugees and migrants in Brighton who need a hand to make a new start.

They helped 39 people in 2019, but they need to increase their income so that they can help housing more of Brighton’s most vulnerable people.
