Jamie's Farm x Hummingbird
Hummingbird’s partnership with Jamie’s Farm offers young people a chance to step away from daily pressures and take part in a therapeutic residential experience grounded in nature, community, and personal growth.
Since the partnership began, 40 young people have taken part in four residential trips, with a fifth planned for September 2026. Visits to Jamie’s Farm provide a restorative environment where young people can reflect, reconnect, and build confidence.
A key part of the experience is working alongside the land and animals—milking cows, feeding goats, caring for sheep, chickens, and horses. Young people also take part in practical activities such as woodwork, farm maintenance, and beekeeping, gaining hands-on skills and a sense of achievement.
One of the most loved moments is coming together in the kitchen—preparing and sharing meals, with young people bringing their own cultures, recipes, and stories to the table. These shared experiences create space for connection, joy, and mutual understanding.
This partnership continues to be a powerful part of our work by offering young people time, space, and support to grow, heal, and thrive.

Jamie's Farm is a charity delivering transformative five-day therapeutic residential programmes for young people. We work in partnership with a range of schools and youth organisations in order to achieve our impact and are so proud to call the Hummingbird Project one of our partners.
Through its various youth services, the Hummingbird Project provides a genuine sense of belonging, care and consistency to an impressive number of young refugees based around Sussex. One of the key ingredients needed to achieve a really impactful Jamie's Farm programme is the dedication of our partner staff. Hummingbird staff and volunteers show this in bucketloads. They are tirelessly committed, thoughtful and hopeful in what can be a challenging landscape, and the positive relationships they forge with the young people they serve are a real testament to this.
The impact of a Jamie's Farm programme is only possible with the collaboration, commitment and care of partners like the Hummingbird Project. To date, we have delivered four - soon to be five - fantastic residential programmes alongside the Hummingbird Project, and we hope to deliver many more!"
