Side by Side

Clinical psychology service

We’re proud to be working in close partnership with the Helen Bamber Foundation to offer specialist, trauma-informed and evidence-based assessment and therapeutic support for young people from refugee backgrounds.

Together, we’re creating spaces where young people can access care that is not only expert, but compassionate and culturally responsive. Support is tailored to each individual, and ranges from one-to-one therapy with our clinical psychologist, to mental health champion workshops, standalone one-off support, group therapy, and short term casework support for young people requiring support from other services. We accept referrals from young people who access Hummingbird services, and where required we can organise interpreters so every young person can engage fully, in their own language.

Young people attending Hummingbird are eligible for referral. At present, this service is not open to external referrals.

Training for Professionals

We believe young people thrive best when the support is offered in a wraparound capacity, so a part of our project is to also upskill services our young people might encounter outside of Hummingbird. If you think your organisation could benefit from more trauma-informed training to work with young people from refugee background, please get in touch!
