Do you have lived experience of forced migration and are looking for your next job?
At the Hummingbird Project, we are committed to increasing the representation of people with lived experience of forced migration in our team, including our volunteers and board of trustees. Research conducted by Breaking Barriers reveals that people from refugee backgrounds in the UK are 4 times more likely to be unemployed than people born here, and on average earn about half the amount per week that UK nationals do. This is despite high levels of qualifications and skills.
If you come from a refugee background, and are thinking about your future career, you can get personalised one-to-one employment support from The Launch Pad Collective, Breaking Barriers and the Experts By Experience Employment Initiative. They can support you with your CV, writing your cover letter, interview preperation, and ongoing training and mentoriships.
Trustees including a Co-Chair
We are seeking new Trustees including a Co-Chair with lived experience of forced displacement.
The Board of Trustees guides our organisation, making sure its mission, vision and core principles are applied. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining us. You don't need to have any experience in similar roles to apply, just a passion for our work!
