Support A Young Refugee Today!
Can You Help Support A Young Refugee?
Hummingbird’s services were accessed by over 360 young people last year.
As a member of our community, you won't be surprised to hear that a number of those young people were experiencing crisis such as suicidal ideation, street homelessness, destitution or risk of detention/deportation.
Thanks to the help of supporters like you, we set up a crisis fund that supports young people at risk with acute crisis matters, which pays for hotels when young people are street homeless, food and clothes when they have been made destitute and access to support when we have seen young people become unwell with their mental health. With laws and processes in place that have been designed to make sure refugees have felt unwelcome here, it is no wonder why these issues have become critical.
How Can you Help?
Our incredible members of our community in Brighton and Sussex have shown their kindness and solidarity to young people fleeing war, conflict and oppression since 2015. Today we are asking you to make a donation of £25, or whatever you can afford to support our young people.
If you are able to contribute:
£25 is the amount we give per week to a young person in financial hardship
£50 will support a young person left destitute
£100 would support a person for two days in need of emergency accommodation
£300 would support one young person for a year
Thank you for believing in our work.
Love always,
The Hummingbird Team x
